EDINBURGH COMEDY AWARD BEST NEWCOMER 2009

Edinburgh Comedy Newcomer Award Winner 2009, Jonny Sweet returns with what he hopes will be a riproaring lecture about the recently decommissioned naval brigate the HMS Nottigham. It’s going to be completely wild. It wasn’t a great ship - in its short career, it ran aground in pretty good conditions and well-chartered territory off Australia, and had a good number of casualties in what can only be described as peaceful conditions. The great naval town of Nottingham, though landlocked, was reasonably proud of it - but that didn’t stop the Navy deciding never to name another ship after Nottingham ever again.
